Tigers Earn 3-1 Win Against Orioles
|
Detroit got a first-rate effort from pitcher Edwin Ramirez, who frustrated Baltimore hitters en route to a 3-1 Tigers triumph at Tiger Stadium 1980. Ramirez went the distance for Detroit. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. The loss makes Baltimore 24-55.
Detroit won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Dave Patterson on the mound for Baltimore, shortstop Tony Phillips hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Tigers fans to their feet.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Ramirez.
