Phillies Lose to Mets, 7-0
|
New York beat Philadelphia on the strength of starter Elias Sosa's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-0. The loss makes Philadelphia 3-5.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but William Scholl didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Philadelphia trailing 2-0, Scholl retired Jon Matlack to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Scholl, with a wink.
