Red Sox Take Down White Sox, 4-3
|
Boston (DL) beat Chicago (DL) on the strength of starter Tony Kaufmann's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Ben Tincup notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 6-2. Boston (DL) has now reeled off 7 straight wins.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Boston (DL) trailing 3-2, David Justice hit a changeup from Ed Halicki to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Red Sox had a walk-off win.
"I felt good up there," said Justice. "I saw the ball well."
