Orioles Lose to Mariners, 8-5
|
Chris Wynn made an impact in the 8-5 Seattle win over Baltimore. Wynn, who is tied for 5th in the AL in home runs with 21, was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Randy Jones got credit for the win, improving to 6-9. He allowed 5 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. Rich Rodas earned his 4th save in 4 chances.
Seattle used a clutch hit from Tony Conigliaro to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mariners ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Wynn.
The triumph puts Seattle at 52-38 for the season.
