Red Sox Get Past Kansas City for 3-2 Win
|
The Boston Red Sox picked up a win at Fenway Park 1976, taking down the Kansas City Royals, 3-2. Starting pitcher Kenneth Kollmyer was a big reason why. Boston reliever Gary Pickert picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Donald Moore took the loss. Boston improves to 60-29 with the win. They lead their division by 8 games.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Boston trailing 2-0, Jeff Burroughs hit a fastball from Donald Moore for a 3-run home run, giving the Red Sox the walk-off win.
Burroughs told a Boston Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
