Montreal Edges San Diego, 1-0, Steen Ks 10
|
In a low-scoring contest, Montreal pitcher Michael Steen was marvelous in his team's 1-0 win. Rollie Fingers was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 5 save opportunities. San Diego is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 9 in a row.
Steen, who leaned on his forkball, allowed no runs on just 1 hit over 8.1 innings for the Expos. For the most part, San Diego hitters were simply overmatched.
"We found a way to get it done," Steen said.
