Dodgers Snatch Late Win
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up a win at Dodger Stadium 1962, knocking off the Montreal Expos, 8-3. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Nick Williams, who played a pivotal role in the win. Los Angeles reliever Steve Foucault was the winner. His record is now 7-5. Frank Tanana took the loss. With the win, the Dodgers hiked their record to 59-36.
Had Dennis Littlejohn not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Littlejohn hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Dodgers.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Littlejohn told the Los Angeles Herald. "It's as simple as that."
