Howard Delivers Walk-Off Win for Giants
|
It was pandemonium at Candlestick Park 1993 after an exciting walk-off win.
The San Francisco Giants beat the New York Mets, 2-0, at Candlestick Park 1993. Starting pitcher Ronnie Sims was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. San Francisco reliever Ross Davis picked up the win, upping his record to 6-4. Rick Jones took the loss.
San Francisco won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Rick Jones on the mound for New York, second baseman Kevin Howard hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Giants fans to their feet.
"This joint was rocking," said Sims.
San Francisco has now won 4 in a row.
