Blue Jays Lose to White Sox, 4-1
|
Chicago starter John Candelaria had a strong outing against the Toronto Blue Jays at Comiskey Park 1969. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-1 win. Gary Christophel was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 6 save opportunities. Chicago raised its record to 49-44 with the win.
In the bottom of the fifth, Wayne Tolleson delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the Chicago shortstop hit a run-scoring single, putting the White Sox in front, 4-1.
Tolleson called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
