Athletics Fall Short, 2-1, at Baltimore
|
Baltimore turned a good effort from starter Don Robinson into a win over the Oakland Athletics at Memorial Stadium 1954. The final score was 2-1. The current losing streak for Oakland has reached 6 games.
Baltimore right fielder Dave Parker contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 61st hit of the season and put the Orioles ahead, 1-0.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Oakland manager Joe Schanken said following the tough loss.
