Phillies Lose to Dodgers, 4-1
|
Los Angeles pitcher Rick Rhoden did his part in helping his team beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. With the victory, the Dodgers upped their record to 60-36.
Had Spike Owen not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Owen hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Dodgers.
"I like our moxie," said Dodgers manager Jason Gudim.
