Fading Athletics Lose 7th Straight
|
The Oakland Athletics went down to defeat to Andrew Castillo and his Baltimore teammates. The final score was 3-2 in favor of the Orioles. In 8.2 innings, Castillo surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Picking up the save was Dave LaRoche. He's now 7 for 7 in save chances.
Fred Lynn, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Baltimore cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"I like what I saw today," said Baltimore manager Ted Day, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
