Orioles Win, 7-5, at Chicago
|
The Baltimore Orioles overcame a good performance by Chicago first baseman Dwayne Taggart to knock off Chicago, 7-5, at Comiskey Park 1969. Taggart went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win has Baltimore at 3-6.
Dwight Evans, the 30-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Evans contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Baltimore up, 4-0.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Evans said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
