Rios Now 5-2 After Subduing Cardinals
|
The Houston Astros got a strong performance from pitcher Jesus Rios, who stymied the St. Louis offense en route to a win, 5-0, at Busch Stadium 1973. The Astros raised their record to 46-50.
Rios, who was born in Azua, Dominican Republic, threw 115 pitches over 8.1 innings, while allowing no runs.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Houston manager Michael Rogner.
