Giants Turn Back Dodgers, 3-2
|
The San Francisco Giants got a good effort from starter Tim Costello in defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers at Candlestick Park 1993. The final score was 3-2. San Francisco pitcher Dan O'Brien got the win, upping his record to 4-2. Mario Soto got the loss. San Francisco goes to 45-53, Los Angeles to 62-37.
Kevin Bass aided the San Francisco cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder was 3 for 4 with 3 singles.
Afterward, Giants manager Rick Brandt was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
