Sconiers Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Boston in Walk-Off Win
|
Fenway Park 1976 was the site of quite a ballgame.
The Boston Red Sox topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-4, in American League action at Fenway Park 1976. The standout performance belonged to Boston pitcher and The United States, native Kenneth Kollmyer. Luis Albo, 3-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings.
Boston won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With no outs and Nick Piazza on the mound for Toronto, right fielder Daryl Sconiers hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Red Sox fans to their feet.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Kollmyer.
With the win, Boston raised its record to 68-31.
