Red Sox Prevail, 5-3, Over Chicago
|
Boston pitcher Gary Perritt did his part in helping his team beat the Chicago White Sox, 5-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. With the win, Boston upped its record to 69-32.
The Red Sox got a big at-bat from second baseman Kevin Klettke. For the game, Klettke went 1 for 5 with a home run. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Boston a 2-1 lead.
Klettke called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
