Spiders Edge Past Royals, 3-2
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Cleveland Spiders and Kansas City Royals.
Cleveland Spiders starter Rick Rhoden hurled his team past the Kansas City Royals, 3-2. Cleveland reliever Omar Huaman got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Orel Hershiser was tagged with the loss.
With one out in the bottom of the eighth, Clayton Elliott had a game-changing hit. The Spiders first baseman slammed a run-scoring single off Orel Hershiser, making the score 3-2, Cleveland.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Kansas City manager Luca Mac Craken.
Kansas City drops to 4-6.
