Blue Jays Down Brewers, 5-3
|
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Exhibition Stadium 1977, knocking off the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-3. Starting pitcher Thomas Linnert was a big reason why. Burt Nordstrom, credited with the save, is now 3 for 5 in save opportunities. With the win, Toronto pushed its record to 66-40.
Toronto second baseman Harold Reynolds contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a curveball into right field for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 5-1.
In postgame comments to the Toronto Observer, Linnert said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
