Sheffield 5-for-5 for Horned Frogs
|
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Brian Sheffield today -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Ballpark of Tucson HS, but the performance lost a little luster when the Horned Frogs were downed 7-6 by the Waterford Township HS Sky.
After his glittering performance, the O'Fallon HS right fielder told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat."
His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
"I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too," Sheffield said.
Brian Sheffield singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Currently Sheffield is batting .444 with 1 home run and 15 RBIs.
