Rangers Stumble, Lose to Yankees
|
The New York Yankees beat the Texas Rangers, 8-4. New York pitcher and St. Joseph, Missouri, native Paul Moskau led the way. The win belongs to Camilo Aprgio in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Ben Hayes took the loss for Texas. The victory gives the Yankees a record of 55-52.
Had Ron Hassey not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hassey hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Yankees.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Hassey.
