Giants Get 7-2 Win Versus Houston
|
The San Francisco Giants defeated the Houston Astros, 7-2, at Candlestick Park 1993 today. Leading the charge for San Francisco was catcher Don Slaught. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. San Francisco starter Floyd Bannister was credited with the win after throwing 120 pitches over 8.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-12. The 5th-place Giants have won 4 consecutive games.
In the first inning, Slaught had a 3-run home run for San Francisco. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Giants on top, 5-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Slaught told the San Francisco Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
