Baltimore Gets 6-3 Win
|
Baltimore Orioles starter Kyle Monroe pitched a strong game against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park 1976, leading the Orioles to victory, 6-3. Monroe, the winner, moves to 9-12. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. The triumph makes Baltimore 40-76.
Baltimore used the bat of Mike Hart to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Orioles ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Monroe told the Baltimore Bulletin.
