White Sox Beat Yankees, 7-3
|
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved White Sox beat the Yankees.
Mitchell Page helped his team muscle past the New York Yankees, 7-3. In the game, the Chicago center fielder went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Chicago pitcher Douglas Nelson got the win, upping his record to 8-8. Mike Parrott got the loss.
Mike Heath, who finished 4th in the AL in triples with 6 in 1980, aided the Chicago cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 4 with a double.
"I really like what we did out there today," Page said after the game.
The win for the White Sox raised their record to 60-55.
