Twins Sneak By Orioles, 6-5
|
The inspired effort of Baltimore left fielder Steve R Ontiveros was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-5, to the Minnesota Twins. Ontiveros was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Reliever Stephen Fuller picked up the win. His record improves to 9-7. Dave LaRoche took the loss. Minnesota is now riding a 3-game win streak.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Minnesota third baseman Aurelio Rodriguez, facing John Howell, had a run-scoring strikeout. It gave the Twins the 6-5 win.
"We've got a great group of guys," Rodriguez said, "and we're having fun right now."
