Murray Slugs Brewers to 5-4 Win
|
The Milwaukee Brewers topped the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 5-4. Leading the way was designated hitter Eddie Murray. Murray went 3-3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Brewers. Luis Lopez was the winner. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Carlos Martinez closed the game out for Milwaukee, earning his 4th save.
With Milwaukee leading 3-0 in the bottom of the third, Murray hit a curveball from Thomas Boyd for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Brewers ahead, 5-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Milwaukee manager Jeremy Bloxson.
The win has Milwaukee at 7-5.
