Blue Jays Shut Out Yankees, Boyd Winner
Thomas Boyd shut out the New York Yankees 5-0 on a 6-hit masterpiece for the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium 1976 today.

"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Toronto skipper Randy Potter said afterward.

Boyd registered 4 strikeouts and issued no walks in pitching a gem.

"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said New York manager Corey Cashen after the defeat.

His record this season is 14-8 in 25 starts and Boyd has a 3.31 ERA.
