Reds Stumble, Lose to Expos
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Cincinnati Reds and Montreal Expos get after it.
Montreal rode a good effort from starter Frank Riccelli to beat the Cincinnati Reds at Olympic Stadium. The final score was 9-2. With the win, Montreal raised its record to 80-53.
The Expos got a big hit from second baseman Timnothy Meyer. In the bottom of the eighth, Meyer pounded a 3-run home run to right. His 12th home run of the season put the Expos ahead, 9-2.
"I liked his command," said Montreal manager Rich Callaghan. "Frank was throwing strikes."
