Astros Best Dodgers in Pitching Duel
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Houston Astros eked out a 2-1 win versus the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium 1962. Nobody did more than pitcher Steve Bedrosian. He was terrific. Luis Aponte picked up the save, his 2nd.
It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Jose Cruz, the 34-year old right fielder . Cruz contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Houston up, 2-1.
"Every loss hurts," said Los Angeles manager Jason Gudim. "But this was a tough one."
The loss makes Los Angeles 9-6.
