Mariners Win, 4-3, at Kansas City
|
The Seattle Mariners racked up a win at Royals Stadium 1973, bumping off the Kansas City Royals, 4-3. Larry Aubel, who started for Seattle, pitched effectively for his team. Aubel got the win, improving to 9-6. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. Aubel allowed 2 runs. Tommy Boggs notched his 2nd save in 3 chances.
It could have been a different outcome for Seattle, had it not been for Ramon Estepa, the 23-year old center fielder . Estepa contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Seattle up, 4-2.
Aubel called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
The triumph puts Seattle at 84-59 for the season.
