Orioles Rough Up Spiders, 8-0
|
The Baltimore Orioles beat the Cleveland Spiders, 8-0, at Memorial Stadium 1954. Bill Foley went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. The 26-year old catcher was a menace to Cleveland all day. The Orioles go to 53-96 with the win.
Mike Hart had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Baltimore. He came through with a 2-run triple to put Baltimore in front, 4-0.
Hart called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
