Hoenstine Strokes 5 Hits
|
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Wichita's Dave Hoenstine made it happen today against the Bears. Everything came together at the plate for the 25-year-old center fielder as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats -- and led the Aeros to a 7-6 win at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Hoenstine said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Dave Hoenstine hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, doubled in the 10th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.
In 45 games this season Hoenstine has compiled a .304 batting average with 49 hits and 2 home runs. He has also scored 14 times and knocked in 19 runs.
