Dodgers Post 5-1 Win Over San Francisco
|
Spirited fans greeted the San Francisco Giants for their clash with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers grabbed a win, 5-1, at Candlestick Park 1993, overcoming a fine effort from San Francisco pitcher Ronnie Sims. Sims went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. The Giants fall to 7-9 and continue their uneven start to the 1982 season.
Chris W Smith, the 24-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Smith contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Los Angeles up, 1-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said San Francisco manager Rick Brandt.
