Triplets Blank Bears, Gullickson Wins
|
A favor to his bullpen. That's what Bill Gullickson was doing at Mile High Stadium today as he blanked the Denver Bears in a 9-inning complete game shutout.
"I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the Evansville Triplets right-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid."
Gullickson notched 2 strikeouts, surrendered no walks, allowed 3 hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
On his stats sheet for the year Gullickson shows a 11-2 record, 15 starts, 109.2 innings, 51 strikeouts and a 1.97 ERA.
