Expos Drop Giants, 3-1
|
The Montreal Expos got a stellar performance from pitcher Michael Steen, who handcuffed the San Francisco offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Candlestick Park 1993. The save was credited to Terry Leach, his 2nd. The win gives Montreal a record of 10-8.
Montreal relied on the hitting of Dale Murphy to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Expos on top, 3-1. For the game, Murphy had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Murphy said.
