Mariners Snatch Late Win
|
The performance of Chris Wynn proved critical in helping Seattle beat Cleveland, 6-4. The Mariners designated hitter went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Seattle goes to 15-8.
It could have been a different outcome for Seattle, had it not been for Ryne Sandberg, the former first overall pick . Sandberg contributed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Seattle up, 6-4.
"It feels good to get this one," Sandberg told the Seattle News.
