Angels Top Yankees, 10-5
|
California picked up a win at Yankee Stadium 1976, toppling the New York Yankees, 10-5. Pitcher Rafael Jimenez was one of the reasons the Angels triumphed. The Angels, now 15-6, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The result might have been different for California, had it not been for Carlos Pimentel. The center fielder produced a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Angels ahead, 6-5. For the game, Pimentel had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We've got a great group of guys," Jimenez said, "and we're having fun right now."
