Giants Win, 8-1, Versus Mets
|
The San Francisco Giants racked up a win at Candlestick Park 1993, bumping off the New York Mets, 8-1. Dan Neumeier, who started for San Francisco, pitched effectively for his team. In 8.1 innings, Neumeier surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The loss has the Mets at 13-11.
Doug Frobel dealt the Mets a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with the bases loaded and San Francisco leading 2-0, Frobel, who is the top prospect in the Giants organization, hit a 1-1 forkball for a 2-run single.
Frobel called the triumph "a good team win."
