Twins Absorb 5-1 Loss at Fenway Park 1976
|
The Boston Red Sox got a stellar effort from pitcher Dom Chiti, helping Boston score a win over the visiting Minnesota Twins, 5-1. Chiti, now 3-0, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The win gives Boston a record of 18-6.
One the game's most dramatic moments benefited Boston. In the top of the fourth, George Foster took a 1-1 changeup and hit a run-scoring single, putting Minnesota up, 3-1. The lead, though, would not hold up.
