A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the California Angels and Minnesota Twins.

The California Angels topped the Minnesota Twins, 8-4, in American League action at Metrodome 1983. The standout performance belonged to California pitcher and Washington, District of Columbia, native Clay Kirby. The loss drops the Twins to 3-1.

California relied on the hitting of Frank White to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Angels on top, 3-0. For the game, White had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I like our moxie," said Angels manager Zim Padres.
