Tigers Fall, 7-3, to Henderson, White Sox
|
Steve Henderson knocked in 3 runs to help Chicago beat Detroit, 7-3. Henderson produced 2 singles, 1 double, and 1 home run. Pete Vuckovich, who went 9 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 8. His record now stands at 4-1. Detroit drops to 14-14.
Chicago used a clutch hit from Tim Teufel to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the White Sox ahead, 5-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Teufel called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
