Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Cubs
|
The Chicago Cubs beat the Houston Astros, 7-3. Chicago pitcher and La Romana, Dominican Republic, native Oscar Sanchez led the way. Sanchez went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 4-2. Houston, now 8-22, continues its tough start.
Sanchez delivered in the bottom of the eighth inning for Chicago. With the game tied and the bases loaded, the pitcher hit a 2-run single to right.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Chicago manager Jeff Griggs.
