Athletics Nip Orioles, 3-2
|
Oakland Coliseum 1969 was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Oakland Athletics and Baltimore Orioles.
The Oakland Athletics did just enough to secure a victory over the Baltimore Orioles, 3-2, at Oakland Coliseum 1969. Nobody did more than pitcher Ron G Davis. Davis, now 1-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs.
Oakland took a 3-2 lead on Barry Evans's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Baltimore pitcher Dave LaRoche in the bottom of the eighth.
"We played hard and won," said Davis. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
The Orioles, now 7-21, continue their poor start.
