Brewers Win at Kansas City, 4-3
|
The Milwaukee Brewers and Kansas City Royals played an exciting game.
The Kansas City Royals got a superb performance from pitcher Frank Viola, but the Milwaukee Brewers still won the game, 4-3. Viola came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters . The loss puts Kansas City at 16-15.
Steve Sax, who finished 4th in the AL in runs with 95 in 1980, helped out the Milwaukee cause in the top of the third inning with a 2-run triple. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Kansas City manager Luca Mac Craken. "But we decided not to take it."
