Athletics Suffer 10-4 Home Loss
New York left-hander Rick Honeycutt pitched his team to victory over the Oakland Athletics at Oakland Coliseum 1969. The final score was 10-4. With the win, New York raised its record to 20-13.

New York used a well-timed hit by Tim Raines to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Yankees ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"Rick was able to execute his pitches," said New York manager Corey Cashen. "Simple as that."
