Nokes Tags Chihuahuas for 5 Hits
|
No matter what the El Paso Chihuahuas threw at him today, Matt Nokes hit it. He easily handled Chihuahuas pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Missions to a 14-3 triumph at Hebron Estates Grounds.
"The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Nokes's quip, Chihuahuas skipper said he "would take him up on that next time."
Matt Nokes singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Presently Nokes is hitting .291 with 2 home runs and 12 RBIs. He has played in 22 games and scored 12 times.
