Toronto Dismisses Baltimore, 5-4
|
Toronto and Baltimore duked it out and the Blue Jays came out victorious.
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Memorial Stadium 1954, taking down the Baltimore Orioles, 5-4. Starting pitcher Tom Deidel was a big reason why. Juan Gutierrez recorded the save for Toronto, his 5th of the season.
With two out in the top of the seventh, Juan Monasterio had a game-changing hit. The Blue Jays third baseman slammed a run-scoring single off Kyle Monroe, making the score 5-2, Toronto.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Deidel said.
Baltimore now has a 5-game losing streak.
