Powell Takes Charge, Blanks Fort Myers, 5-0
|
Dennis Powell of the Dunedin Blue Jays overwhelmed the Fort Myers Palms and walked off the mound with a complete-game shutout. He blanked them 5-0 on 2 hits with a total of 5 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"Dennis was on quite a roll," Dunedin manager said. "He gets great late movement and he doesn't give in to the hitters."
On the season Powell has a 5-0 record with a 2.76 ERA.
