Detroit Bats Go Silent in 5-0 Loss
|
California picked up a win at Angel Stadium 1979, toppling the Detroit Tigers, 5-0. Pitcher Ray Fontenot was one of the reasons the Angels triumphed. With the win, California upped its record to 30-20.
Manny Castillo had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for California. He came through with a 2-run double to put California in front, 4-0.
Castillo called the win "a collective effort."
