Acevedo Twirls 1-0 Shutout
|
The bats were ice cold today for the Tampa Pirates at Al Lopez Field. Pompano Beach Stingrays starter Ricky Acevedo kept the Pirates cold all day, shutting them out in a 1-0 victory. In a fine outing, the 22-year-old hurler allowed 4 hits while striking out 6 and walking 4.
"I'm not quite sure what was different today," Acevedo admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves."
His record this season is 4-4 in 5 starts and Acevedo has a 4.95 ERA.
